Smallest Planet outside our solar system discovered!

The newly found planet is the smallest yet discovered, it is also the first ever to be confirmed as being a rocky planet.  The object is 40% bigger than earth (in diameter), and is called Kepler-40b. It was discovered by NASA's Kepler spacecraft.

The planet is quite hot, and thought to be partially molten.  No liquid water or life is likely to exist on the planet.  The discovery is still significant though, as it shows that Kepler is capable of finding  rocky planets, including the kind that may be more suitable to life.

Woman's Tears Turn Off Men

It turns out that a woman's tears actually chemically turn off men.  Not only do tears of sadness kill a mans sexual appetite, it also temporarily lowers his testosterone level as well.

The findings were discovered by a team at Weizmann Institute of Science.  They ran a variety of experiments, they are as follows:

The team collected tears from a group of women who were told to watch a sad movie. The team then had men sniff the tears and a saline solution to see if they could tell the difference between the two, they could not. The tears and saline solution were soaked in cotton pads, and held under the nose

Unique Dolphin Hunting Style - Driving Fish Onto Land

Dolphins, in particular the bottle nose variety, are incredibly intelligent. Some of their intelligent behavior includes having the know how to kill sharks by busting the sharks gills with their snouts.

Many believe dolphins intelligence rivals our own, and just as with humans, their are bound to be bad individuals. They are also one of the few animals on this planet that are known tool users, using cuttle bones from cuttle fish to protect their snouts while rummaging through the sand looking for flat fish.

Ancient 2,000 Year Old Greek Computer Rebuilt... Out of Lego

A Piece of the Ancient Computer
Arguably the first computer ever, the Greeks designed a computer now referred to as the "Antikythera Mechanism" long before the modern information age.  This computer dates back further than 2,000 years to 100-150 BC and was used to calculate the motion of the planets and stars.

The device was discovered in 1901, pulled from from a sunken ship in the depths of the ocean. It is extremely complex, using different gear boxes to perform certain arithmetic calculations, before linking to other gear boxes that perform more arithmetic calculations on top of this.  The result is turning hands that, when aligned, predict certain celestial events.
